When I worked in a junior high library, Duncan's books were extremely popular, right up there with Judy Blume. My heart went out to her after her daughter was murdered--what a terrible situation all round. I hope she truly can rest in peace now.
And Jeff--thanks for the link to Lesa's blog. I was unfamiliar with it, but just looking at her last few entries, she's the kind of book blogger I enjoy and I've bookmarked her site.

I had more Lois Duncan books in my house thirty years ago then any other writer. She spoke to teen age girls.

Definitely, Deb. I think Bill introduced her blog to me last year, and I met her in Raleigh at the Bouchercon.
Patti Abbott posted (on her blog) this great interview her daughter Megan did with Duncan five years ago.
