Love the cover! This is one of Jim Thompson's underrate novels.

It's hard to believe Boucher would have said "miss a one of his books".

An interesting variation on THE KILLER INSIDE ME

My favorite Thompson.

Read it (this edition) in high school study hall and somehow did not get expelled. Of course, in junior high I read THE CARPETBAGGERS....

THE CARPETBAGGERS is a classic, too, in its own way.

A while back I read over 8 more Jim Thompson books; at the time I had varying degrees of enjoyment in reading them.

POP. 1280 seems to me one of the strongest, and was probably the best out the group of them that I read.

There are some weak ones, but I like just about all of them to one degree or another.

I think so, too; all the works by Thompson had style and were worth reading, or at least enjoyable. Some more than others, but they are still all distinct to his style.
