I've been by maybe half-a-dozen of these, and one--the bridge near Greencastle, Indiana, I have been to often. (I went to college at DePauw University, which is in Greencastle.) The bridge was a nicely isolated spot, where a couple could find some privacy. I don't remember any rumors about its being haunted, though.

At the time, you probably were more interested in privacy than in ghosts.
We went by that Six Flags site on the Katrina tour in New Orleans and it does fit on the "creepy" scale.
