I believe this is the second printing. The first edition has an all white background on the cover and was the one I read, lo, those many years ago. I was a big fan of the Man From O.R.G.Y. books and read all of them, but I don't recall liking his other series that much, including this one.

Could well be a second printing. Those books went through a lot of them.
I had a handful of books in this series. I think James is right. I remember a different color scheme.
