Amazon.com: OMEGA Exile eBook: Stephen Arseneault: Kindle Store The first book in the OMEGA series! For two thousand years, the Human run empire known as the Alliance of Major Planets (AMP) brought peace and stability to the five galaxies surrounding and including the Milky Way. Advances in technology, and a strong set of fair laws, had allowed a peaceful expansion of Human ideals. As the alliance aged, corruption crept in, allowing an overthow that placed a dozen ruling families in charge. Without clear leadership, the New Alliance began to decay, and without change, it will ultimately fail. For Knog Beutcher, a three star veteran detective, living in the New Alliance is a struggle. He finds himself caught in the middle of the chaos as colonies rebel and populations riot. With the invasion of one of the galaxies by an external enemy, the alliance's future becomes uncertain. Corruption, rebellion, intrigue and lawlessness have come to Knog's world. His struggles have only just begun...
Here Be Dragons: In Literature
Here Be Dragons: In Literature on AbeBooks: The ancient mythology of the dragon dates far, far back, centuries before Shakespeare. Originally often presented as sea serpents, modern dragons are now commonly reptilian creatures of land, with legs, and of air, with wings. Though dragons are mythological creatures, it has been widely speculated that their existence was once widely accepted. This belief may have originated with prehistoric art, and with glimpses of large amphibious and reptilian creatures such as crocodiles or komodo dragons.

FFB: The Evil Sleep -- Evan Hunter
A reprint from 10-31-2004
I'd been looking for this book for many years. I'm not sure Falcon Books were very well distributed in Texas, since I've run across very few of them, and I'd probably never have found this one if it hadn't been for eBay. Sure, the book was reprinted by Fawcett Crest in a slightly revised version as So Nude, So Dead, but I wanted the Falcon. Now I have it, even if it isn't signed, like Richard Moore's copy. I've even read it. It's told from the point of view of a heroin addict who wakes up one morning with a beautiful dead blonde babe in his bed. Not exactly an original idea, except for the addict part. He has to fight his addiction while trying to find the killer. There's a lot of brutality in the book, mostly torture and beatings, and a lot of sex. Ray Stone might be an addict, but he's pretty much irresistible to women. There's some awkward writing. ("Ray," she hissed. "Now!") But the story moves right along, and there's even a mention of Hunter College, which may or may not have been the inspiration for Evan Hunter's last name. Not a great novel, and no fan of Mickey Spillane's will be surprised by the ending, but I'm still glad I finally got my hands on a copy.

The Old Retired English Teacher Sighs and Pulls out the Remainder of His Hair
Patriots Respond To Wells Report With Extensive Document: "The conclusions of the Wells Report are, at best, incomplete, incorrect and lack context.
Above is the first sentence of the Patriots' response to the Wells report. Who writes this stuff? I'm not just talking about the missing Oxford comma. Doesn't anybody teach parallelism anymore? Or did whoever wrote this just skip his freshman English class? And keep off my damn' lawn.
