I kept waiting for a writer I'd heard of, and when one appeared, it was...James Patterson? So now I'm waiting for a writer by whom I have read something. Here's your chance, Bill. (BTW, I'm taking LOTR--it's long, and I can re-read it a lot.) (But if I were a writer, I might go with Patterson's choice.)

George Bernard Shaw said the same thing: if stranded on a desert island, he would bring blank notebooks and pencils.
If I were Patterson I'd just bring along my book contracts; there are so many of them he'd never reach the end.
