This is actually an interesting list, and despite being fairly long it barely scratches the surface of its topic, because I'm sure that all movie and television buffs can think of many other candidates. Jason Clarke and Stephen Graham come immediately to mind; Clarke is deservedly starting to become higher-profile.
Of those included on this list, all sterling, I am especially fond of Michael Pena - he and Gyllenhaal were so damn good together in "End of Watch" - and Pat Healy. "Great World of Sound" is one of the best indie films I have ever seen, and Healy's contribution to it is crucial.
Overall, just as people rightly say we're in a Golden Age of Television, I definitely think we are in a Golden Age of Acting. There are hundreds, perhaps thousands of actors in film, television, and theater, in many countries, who are trained, serious, and ready for any challenge.
