It May Appear that I Am Here . . .
. . . but I am not. I'm on my way to Austin to attend Armadillocon. I'm going a little early so I'll have time to visit my sister and my son while I'm in town. The usual posts have been scheduled, along with some of the usual weird miscellaneous items. I'll be back on Monday, so behave while I'm gone.

Have a great time, and watch out for the bats!

Enjoy your trip and family visits!
And watch out for armadillos--I think I read that they're responsible for an outbreak of leprosy in Florida. (Now there's a fun thought to take on your way.)
I warned him about that yesterday, Deb. I have an armadillo T-shirt that was "Hand Dyed With Real Texas Dirt" that Jackie got me on an "educational" trip to Fort Worth about 15 years ago.
Armadillos are always being blamed for disease-spread...interesting that they seem to be at least carriers of so much human-phafeous bits, as such distant mammal cousins.
Now if AmradilloCon turns out to be a disease vector...well, that might be less puzzling...
I should clarify my comments: it's not actually the armadillos that are responsible for spreading the leprosy but the people who pick up, handle, and (yes!) eat the armadillos.

so behave while I'm gone.
Yes, Dad.
Have a great time.
Travel safe and have fun. Wish I was going.
Take it easy, but take it.
Enjoy.
