While the average Joe thinks that anything Texas or the general South is the BBQ haven, I regularly read that the best BBQ is produced in Kansas and New York, along with steaks too. That is to say, it's not about size and bargain, but taste and quality. Me thinks in reality it's good all over by those who endeavor to do something special and yummy. Coffee-rubbed ribs in one restaurant in the East Bay in NorCal are my favorite 'round these parts. Just say no to the chain places, for the most part, and find those special little BBQ spots that often rock the world.

Hey, watch it! We have our share of good barbecue. There's even a Hill Country Barbecue in Brooklyn.
