And your NYC list of 5/26/65:

1 5 WOOLY BULLY - Sam The Sham & The Pharaohs
2 3 LAND OF 1000 DANCES - Cannibal & The Headhunters
3 1 BACK IN MY ARMS AGAIN - The Supremes
4 4 HELP ME, RHONDA - The Beach Boys
5 2 MRS. BROWN YOU’VE GOT A LOVELY DAUGHTER - Herman’s Hermits
6 8 CONCRETE AND CLAY - The Unit Four Plus Two
7 12 DARLING TAKE ME BACK - Lenny Welch
8 9 JUST A LITTLE - The Beau Brummels
9 13 NOTHING CAN STOP ME - Gene Chandler
10 15 I’VE BEEN LOVING YOU TOO LONG (To Stop Now) - Otis Redding

The week that "Wooly Bully" made it to #1. I wonder if Jackie was on her way to D.C. yet.

The remake of Sam Cooke's "Wonderful World" by Herman's Hermits jumped from 20 to 11. "I Can't Help Myself" by The Four Tops - soon to be their first #1 - jumped straight to #19.

I miss the old days.

There's some excellent songs on that chart (Baby, the Rain Must Fall; Just Once in My Life; Catch the Wind), plus the added bonus of Patti Page singing Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte!
