NYTimes.com: Robert Stone, the naturalist author whose satirical epics explored the underside of American life, died on Saturday at his winter home in Key West, Fla. He was 77. Hat tip to Jeff Meyerson.
Thanks! I thought I had jotted it down from reading a recent review, but obviously I found reference to it somewhere else and just added it to the list. Well, if I've waited almost 39 years to read it, I don't suppose it'll hurt to stay on my TBR list a little longer.
I thought this guy's name sounded familiar yesterday evening when I read an online obit.
I then started searching for older library books that needed to be read and returned. Low and behold, I found a copy of DOG SOLDIERS I forgot I had checked out.

Robert Stone wrote one of my favorite books: DOG SOLDIERS.
Also HALL OF MIRRORS which was prescient about the rise of right-wing talk radio and the negative impact it would have on civil discourse.
I have his most recent book, CHILDREN OF LIGHT, on my TBR list right now.
Deb-Children of Light is an older novel-from 1986.
