I've heard of some of these. The zodiac killer obviously, but I also heard of the New Orleans Axmen, Jack the Stripper, the one Elliot Ness fell to catch.
That last one wasn't even a serial killer: just an unfortunate group of murders where the DNA collection kits had been contaminated. On the other hand, wouldn't that be an interesting plot twist for a murder mystery?
I've noticed that a lot of these lists are like that, Deb, with one or more items that don't fit. Probably written to fill out the list. But it would be a good plot twist for a book, all right.
