Tom Magliozzi, R. I. P.

NPR: Tom Magliozzi, one of public radio's most popular personalities, died on Monday of complications from Alzheimer's disease. He was 77 years old.

Oh no! And someone had just posted a quote from the Car Talk guys about Daylight Savings Time. I love listening to Car Talk, even though they're running old shows now. Understandable I guess, if one of them had Alzheimer's. Sad news.

I wondered why they'd retired, and I suppose the Alzheimer's is the answer. Judy and I love that show.

Tom had been making references to not being as sharp as he had been in the last years of the show, but considering how he was still doing by the wrap-up, it hit him hard and fast.

I'm afraid I'm one who thought they spent way too much time being comedians and to little time answering questions on cars, which was supposed to be the point of the show. In the last few years, the few times I heard a segment before changing channels it was all about dumb puns and jokes.
