The two most influential toys didn't make the list: Mattel's Snub-nose .38 (now politically incorrect) and Robbie the Robot.

As usual the list skews WAY too young.

Tinkertoys
Erector Set
Slinky
jump rope
hula hoop

Need I go on?

The whippersnappers who make these lists have never heard of some of those toys.

And, gentlemen, the one toy hat can't be (as bicycles and even hula hoops can) classed as sports/exercise equipment...the yoyo. Though I guess it's still a weapon. Tinkertoys certainly were the previous gen competitor to Lego.

Hasbro seems to have bought out everyone these days, in games and toys.

I loved my yo-yo. Wasn't any good with it, but I had fun.
