Nick Carr had a short story series in one of our FADING SHADOWS magazines in the '90s about grave robbers.

I wrote one for an anthology based on Dickens characters: "Mr. Pickwick and the Body Snatchers." I thought it was pretty good.

And, of course, Tom Brokaw looks upon them as the Even Greatester Generation, since his great grandpa was a part of it, even as his dad was part of the last generation to engage in widespread lynching, et maxima cetera.

I don't believe that page was available when I did my story. I'd have used a lot of the info if it had been.

Todd, do tell about Brokaw.

I first learned about this when I was a kid reading a horror comics collection.

The flick BURKE AND HARE with Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis is a black comedy about Scottish for-profit grave robbing. The film was kinda boring, I never finished watching it.

Brokaw, a blowhard of long standing, has been riding a hobbyhorse that the WW2-era adults were the Greatest Generation in US history. Why? Because they, um, "well, my dad (and maybe my mom, too) was one (or two)"...because surely no other generation of Americans faced such tribulations and so advanced the human experience...except, you know, every other one.

For a quick take on Brokaw as graybeard.
