Thanks, everyone, for the sympathy and support you've shown on learning of Judy's death. If you knew her, you know what a loss this is. If you didn't know her, I wish you had. She was the sweetest, kindest person I've ever met. From the day we married, I more or less ceased to exist as an individual. There was no more Bill Crider. There was BillandJudy. It's been that way ever since. My sister said today that she was worried about me because Judy and I had never been separated for more than a couple of days in all our years together. I'll be okay, though, I think. It's still BillandJudy as far as I'm concerned. She may have left the world, but she'll never leave me.
There's a nice tribute to Judy here.

Judy brightened every room she ever walked into with you. I remember when you and Judy took us to lunch at Taste of Texas. Great food and great conversation! Judy was a delight!
Bill, yes, it was always BillandJudy. Your words about how sweet she was were so touching, yet I know you were her image, just of another gender.
I also understand a bit about being a caregiver for a very ill person. I hope you grant yourself as long a rest as you need before you are back to work and back to greeting the fans who need you.
Deepest condolences,

I remember when the two of you came to New York just before Judy got sick and we walked you all over from Midtown to the World Trade Center site, with a stop at St. Martin's in the Flatiron Building. (Judy and Jackie ganged up on Bill until he agreed to go on up to see Ruth Cavin, his editor.) It was a great day.
We'll always have our memories of her.

That may be the sweetest tribute I have ever heard.
Bill, I'm truly sorry for your irreplaceable loss. May God give you and your family the strength to bear it. Best wishes
Damn. I missed seeing that. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss.
Bill, I am so sad for you. It is clear to me, having read your posts about Judy, that your love for your wife permeated your very being. You will be in my prayers this week.

I'm so sorry, Mr. C. Caught up in the holiday, this is the first I'm hearing of it. I always figured that if I ever had the honor of meeting you, I would also get the pleasure of meeting Judy as well. Just from reading the blog it was obvious how much she was central to your life; Judy infused every post about your adventures with her presence.
My sympathies to you and to all her family and friends......
I'm very sorry to see this, Bill. Please know that you and your family are deep in our thoughts right now. Your beautifully worded tribute to your wife makes it obvious just how much she means to you. You were a lucky couple to have had each other all these years.
I envy you for what you had. It is a rare thing to find the perfect someone and have that person for so long.
That was beautiful, Bill. I'll be honest, it brought tears to my eyes.
