Hard to beat authors' catty remarks about each other 8-)

1. I'm an Austen partisan.
2. At last, something I can agree with Virginia Wolfe about 8-)
3. I think the real problem Faulkner had with Hemingway was that he thought Hemingway was a gifted writer who chose to take "easy" literary style over serious, difficult subjects.

I'm glad to have both Hemingway and Faulkner on my shelves. What Faulkner said isn't an insult in my mind, but I'm sure it was in Faulkner's.
