I'm not sure I've ever eaten salt-water taffy. However, when I was a kid, we lived a couple of blocks from an old guy (well, I thought at the time he was old) who made taffy and sold it around town. We used to go there and get it freshly made. Best taffy ever.
That was probably fresh and good, too. I remember that the taffy the old guy made was sold in flat strips wrapped in wax paper that was twisted on the ends to close it.

Everyone knows the best salt water taffy comes from Atlantic City or elsewhere on the Jersey Shore.

Home made is always going to be better, right? My parents used to bring it back from Atlantic City when we were kids.
