Bobby Womack, singer with brave 2nd act, dies: Bobby Womack, the colorful and highly influential R&B singer/songwriter revered by artists ranging from the Rolling Stones to Damon Albarn, has died. He was 70.
My favorite of his is "That's the Way I Feel About Cha," a minor hit from the early 1970s. Most interesting nugget in his obituary: He married Sam Cooke's widow just a few months after Cooke was murdered.
I know--especially since his murder was, as far as I'm aware, never solved and there are still all sorts of rumors about who killed him and why.
Btw, Bill, am I imagining things or did you post a Valentinos song for Song of the Day recently? If so, was that just an odd coincidence or did you have "insider knowledge"?

I have a couple Bobby Womack CDs. Great music!

I'm surprised someone hasn't made a movie about Sam Cooke.

There's a James Brown movie on the way. Just saw the trailer the other day.
If I did post a Valentinos song, it was pure coincidence, as much as I'd like to claim precognition.
