When I read the title of the article I was wondering if he ripped out his heart with his hands like in a martial arts movie (or Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.) From the article, I gather that he used a knife.
This even is so over the top that if it appeared in a book or movie it would probably be criticized as unrealistic.
