THE COURTS OF CHAOS was pretty dull. Happily, the next two serials I caught up with, Gregory Benford's THE STARS IN SHROUD and Frederik Pohl's JEM, were rather better...and then GALAXY was gone.
Ah, JEM. With the problems GALAXY had, the five-part serial ran from November/December 1978, through three editors, to July 1980, finishing long after Pohl's novel had been published in book form. Did anyone actually that last installment in GALAXY?
