Not that it was a great movie, but "the cheap detective" made for a horrible novelization. And I base that on the character played by Phil Silvers, who is supposed to be a spoof of Walter Brennan's character in "To have and have not". In the book, his character "abused" himself behind the couch at one point - something that wasn't seen in the movie. disgusting!
Did I ever tell you about Websense? That's the built-in censor employed by my company to protect me from "inappropriate content" on my office computer. They figure that my young, impressionable 63-year-old psyche needs to be shielded from all things "tasteless" - - like the Cracked.com website; at least that's the reason they give for denying access to anything you've ever linked to from it.
Mr. Websense (as I like to call "him") also won't let me use Twitter or Facebook, or other such "social networking" sites. Thing is, Mr. W also considers Steve Hockensmith's site "social networking". Mr. W can't seem to make up "his" mind about the EQMM site "Something Is Going To Happen" - sometimes yes, sometimes no.
I know it's not your problem, Bill, but I thought you ought to know ...
