The reviewer throws in the usual "feminist" b.s., but Sheldon's work is as far beyond that stuff as Ralph Ellison's "Invisible Man" is beyond white racism!
"and she [Alice Sheldon, in a review headlined "The Unlikely Queen of Sci-Fi"] was the only one to show at once such a power of invention, an awareness of gender and justice, and a tragic sense of life."
This says to me that you haven't read, or don't recall sufficiently, Joanna Russ, Carol Emshwiller, Kate Wilhelm, or Theodore Sturgeon. But I suspect (or, at least, hope) you didn't actually write that headline, either.
