CBS News: Retired Col. George "Bud" Day, a Medal of Honor recipient who spent 5.5 years as a POW in Vietnam and was Arizona Sen. John McCain's cellmate, has died at the age of 88, his widow said Sunday.
I hope America and history never forgets men like Bud and what they went through for us. Imagine 5 1/2 years in a hellhole. Every time I hear that we lost another POW from the Vietnam war, it brings me back to when I first read Jeremiah Denton's memoir "When Hell Was In Session." The book should be required reading in our High Schools.

I read a biography of him. His escape attempt from North Vietnam was grueling.
