Geri (the Baby) 1994-2012
Scott Cupp was working in Houstn and came over for a visit one night back in 1994. I went out to his car with him when he left, and we heard a cat crying somewhere down the block. After Scott pulled out, I walked down the street and found a tiny kitten sitting beside a cat that had been run over. I took the baby home, and she took up residence in our house and in our hearts. Last night she was perky as ever, and around 10:15 she came into the bedroom to remind me it was time to feed her. Then she went out to wait for me in the kitchen. I heard her meow and went to feed her. She started toward the utility room, and her legs splayed out. I picked her up and took her to the bedroom and put her on the towel on the floor at the foot of our bed where she usually slept (if she wasn't on the bed itself). Fifteen minutes later, she was gone. Things won't be the same around here. We'll miss her every day.

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like she had a great life with you.
Jeff
Sorry for your loss, Bill. People who don't care about cats just don't get it.
Very sorry to hear this, Bill. It sounds like she had a great life and was very lucky you found her.
I'm so sorry to hear about Geri's passing. Losing a friend--no matter how furry-faced or prone to sleeping 16 hours a day--is never easy. But it sounds as if she had a fine, satisfying life in your company.
Cheers,
Jeff
It must be a very hard thing to go through, and the love she gave (and was given back) will be a wonderful memory for you both to hold on to.
Steve
I'm so very sorry, Bill.
Like every beloved pet, she was family. Believe me, I know.
You and your wife were HER family (and her angels too.)
So sorry for your loss. Pets can wriggle their way into your life and become an important part of it -- something many of us fully appreciate only after they are gone.
I am so sorry for your loss.
Michel
Thanks, folks. Sure is lonesome around here today.
Oh Bill, I am so sorry to hear this news. It's terribly sad and difficult to lose a beloved pet. The only good thing is she went pretty quickly, without a bunch of vet visits and medications before a fatal shot.
I'm still not over Charlotte, whom we lost early last Summer. It takes a long time, but eventually we remember only the best, the love and the warm times. You gave her a wonderful home and life. I'm sorry for your pain.
our sympathies
I'm so sorry. It's been twenty years since we lost our cat Patches, and I still think about him nearly every day. Rick's right, the pain does fade, but it's still mighty tough.
Please accept my sympathy. Cats are wonderful creatures, and so often unappreciated. Of course, a pets are wonderful creatures.
I'm so sorry to hear this. If your heartache is big it's because your heart is big. Not everyone would take in a stray and give it a loving home for 18 years. You're good people and the kitty was lucky you found her.
My sympathies to you and your wife. It's so hard to lose a beloved pet; I've always had dogs and know how quickly pets become an essential part of the family. My mother still talks about our beagle-mix, Patches, who died 30 years ago at the age of 14.
I am so sorry she is gone. Geri had personality!
My sympathies, Mr. C. I can only echo what Martha already stated but I'll also bet you were very lucky that she found you....
