DONNIE BRASCO and MCCLINTOCK are "great"? DONNIE BRASCO is ** at best thanks to Pacino; the scenes of Pistone interrupting his deep-cover assignment to go to a marriage counselor with his wife are just ridiculous.
Personally I enjoy MCCLINTOCK. It may not be the greatest film ever, and certainly not the greatest John Wayne film ever, but it's a fun romp, a cast with personality, and light years ahead of some other "funny" John Wayne films, most notably John Ford's DONOVAN'S REEF. In fact I bought the DVD.
