How about in "Dances With Wolves" when Kevin Costner had his horse stolen by the Indian boys and they're riding off and speaking (with subtitles) and one lad says, "They'll WRITE songs about us." (Emphasis mine). Well, since no tribe ever had a word for writing, either in writing per se or in musical notation, he couldn't possibly have said that. The fact that it's in subtitles indicates these are boys who've never been exposed to or learned English, so that can't be the reason. I looked up the screenplay, and the screenwriter had it right--he wrote, "They'll SING songs about us." (Again, emphasis mine). Just another case of someone editing in ignorance...
There's a scene in Mr Arkadin (a pretty messy movie) where Orson Welles's drink keeps shifting between a martini glass and a champagne glass -- the only thing I really remember about that scene.

As usual this should be called The Worst Movie Mistakes in History (last 20 years), though they did have Spartacus.
