I loved reading Max Schulman's "On Campus" column when I was a college student. Very funny! But he's only known for Dobie Gillis.
I still haul out my Dobie Gillis VHS tapes. Maynard for President!

I recently reread RALLY ROUND THE FLAG, BOYS! - a movie I really liked - but it didn't hold up all that well for me.Maybe I'll try Dobie next.Jeff
The Dobie novel I WAS A TEENAGE DWARF is more the basis of the TV show than this.But Schulman is great. Such a pity that the great comic novelist of his generation is essentially forgotten.
But not by some of us. I love the Dobie Gillis stories and some of the other books.
Nice to see Arnold Roth's work, too.
