I remember watching a documentary about this on something like History. And I also followed the link to the story about a Japanese pilot doing two bombing runs in Oregon trying to start forest fires (which I had never heard of). They didn't mention the Japanese sub that shelled oil tanks here in California up around Ventura around the time of Pearl Harbor. Or the Japanese rice paper balloons they used to try and start fires in forests later in the war.
