My worthless option: The 1957 "3:10 to Yuma" was a far better film. It is Glenn Ford's finest performance, plus the B/W cinematography was excellent. And I really liked the 1962 "Cape Fear." The Polly Bergen and Mitchum "egg breaking scene" is tremendous.
August, your opinion is considerably less worthless than several of those expressed here, which manages to omit, among the worst, the remake of THE HAUNTING. However, both CAPE FEARs are far lesser work than John D. MacDonald's source novel, THE EXECUTIONERS. By a damned long sight.
I was waiting for them to miss "The Maltese Falcon." Glad that they surprised me by remembering it.
Of course they missed "The Adventures of Robin Hood" with Errol Flynn (loose remake of the Douglas Fairbanks silent film - both of which co-starred Alan Hale Sr. as Little John) and "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves."
Come to think of it, Brett, you remind me of the first two THIEF OF BAGHDADs...the third one being not a worst so much as a shrug. But the Fairbanks, Sr./AM Wong silent and the Korda remake are both pretty damned great.

For once I have no disagreements with a best/worst list!
