Dr Pepper Snapple Group of Plano, Texas, the parent company, is suing a small Dr. Pepper bottling company in Dublin, Texas.
The charge?
The Dublin bottler is violating its licensing deal and infringing on the trademark by selling a sugar cane sweetened version of the popular soft drink, and marketing it as 'Dublin Dr Pepper.'"

Hat tip here to Mr. Crider himself -- mentioned in (or the cover blurb from) Srf. Dan Rhodes "DEAD TO BEGIN WITH" that the Dublin TX made Dr. Pepper with real cane sugar is now actually discontinued. A good drink and one that was beloved as mentioned elsewhere in blog posts on this site!

Fall in 2017:
On the shelves there are Dr. Pepper MADE WITH SUGAR, in a green can (not bottle) with red 10, 2, and 4 listed on the logo.
In Dallas (and Alvin, and Houston Texas, I bet) there are still Coca-Cola HECHO IN MEXICO made with Cane Sugar, and the Dr. Pepper plant has some with real cane sugar. How do this better tasting drinks compare, as they are better than "corn syrup" to my own taste, how would the Dr. Pepper compare with those from the Dublin plant, that were made in bottles.
