It helps if the first film was any good at all, which they weren't in most of these cases. SPEED II is an exception, and a solid contender, but not for top spot.
Biggest dropoffs would probably also include STAR TREK V (at least after the affable IV), FRENCH CONNECTION II, and THEY CALL ME MISTER TIBBS.
That one occurred to me, too, Anders...but it was just OK enough. Well, of course, the point was money, and some of the actors in MORE hadn't had much work since AG, nor have they since (or at least not so much high profile work).

While better than the previous list of "worst sequels" yet again this leaves off GREASE 2.

Return of the Magnificent 7.
The FRIDAY THE 13TH and AMERICAN PIE series should certainly be there, as well as the two sequels to PORKY'S.
Am I the only one who thinks THE TWO JAKES is actually not bad at all?
Btw, the best sequel ever is of course THE TESTAMENT OF DR. MABUSE.

Todd makes an interesting point; dropoff vs. absolute level.
How would one compare NIGHT OF THE GHOULS (sequel to PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE) to SANJURO (sequel to YOJIMBO)?
Oh, another sequel that should not have been made: MORE AMERICAN GRAFFITI. It was not really that bad, but what was the point?
