Gene Shalit Leaving 'Today' Show After 40 Years - The Hollywood Reporter: "Gene Shalit, the uniquely-coiffed television personality who has been a mainstay on the Today show for four decades, will leave the NBC program on Nov. 11.

As far as I'm concerned it was "enough already" many many years ago.
I never trusted him again after his rave for the awful, unfunny SILENT MOVIE.

I thought they booted him out ages ago. They should have.
My favorite Gene Shalit review, still crystal-clear in my mind 30-plus years later: "'Rooster Cogburn'...lays an egg!"
