Everything is okay as long as it comes with a warning. In fact, I think I'll start putting in my syllabi, "WARNING: This math course may cause episodes of spontaneous enlightenment and intelligence. If you have a homework assignment that lasts more than four hours, call your doctor immediately!" :-)
