I think Tracy Reed was the only woman in the movie...and was only on-screen for a few minutes, but I love her scene--the way, in one brief telephone conversation, she makes it clear that she's involved with both Buck and the man on the phone and neither of them knows about the other one. Classic!

Indeed. What makes the role isn't just the look of (the criminally underemployed and breathtaking) Ms. Reed, but the context and content.
