Time to Buy Stock in Blockbuster?

News from The Associated Press: "Netflix's 11 million subscribers will have to wait nearly an extra month to rent the latest movies by Warner Bros.

Under an agreement announced Wednesday, Netflix's DVD-by-mail service won't send out Warner Bros.' latest DVD and Blu-ray discs during the first 28 days after they hit the market.

The deal is a first for Netflix. The company expects to reach similar agreements with other major movie studios later this year."

Can't imagine that Bb won't do similar...if it gets them the same discount, or better.

Considering that Wall Street Journal's Smart Money has DVDs listed first in their "10 Things Not to Buy in 2010" article, because they're so easy to rent, I understand Warner wanting to do this.

My Netflix queue doesn't have one movie less than 50 years old. Guess I'm not a target audience for this deal.

This sucks. It will just drive purchase-burn-share back up. WB is cutting off their nose to... well, you know.

I have no problem waiting an extra month for a movie. This won't make me change back to Blockbuster.
