What a great column, and the first one was, too. I read SF Signal anyway, but even if I didn't, these columns would get me started.
I found myself in one of these situations the other day. I have all but two of a favorite author's mystery novels in hardcover, 1st Ed. The others two I have in good solid mass market paperback editions. I damn near spent 10 times original retail to get one of those titles in HC 1st Ed. I'm not sure why my hand hesitated before I clicked the BUY button, but somehow I came to my senses. I think.
