It certainly says something about my fantasy reading that I've heard of only one person (McKillip) mentioned here. There must have been considerable turnover in the fantasy authoring business since I paid attention...

Well, the Dillons have been doing illustration and covers going back to the '60s...and Ellen Datlow first popped up on the scene as an editor for OMNI under Robert Sheckley, then took his position when he left, in the '80s...she and Terri Windling began publshing THE YEAR'S BEST FANTASY AND HORROR around the turn of the '90s...the other folk have gone pro since, I believe.
