Top 10 Greatest James Bond Themes - The List Universe: "James Bond has been gracing our movie screens for over forty years, and is about to again this November with “Quantum of Solace.” Integral to the Bond legacy is the music, which has endured with the character, adapting to the times and films as fluidly as the character himself and becoming just as memorable. This was originally a complete ranking of 24 themes, but for the sake of brevity - and the potential for a followup list, this is a list of the top 10."

I missed the last James Bond movie. This reminds me that I need to rent it before the next one comes out.
Need is a bit strong...but it does seem that this one is more a sequel than usual.
I've noted it here before...I was as disappointed by CASINO ROYALE as I was by FAY GRIM, when I tend to like a spy film a lot when it's any good at all (such as the BOURNE films)...including the underrated GET SMART! (the recent film).
One thing that lessens his choice of Thunderball as #2 is that it's not the original version. It's an updated version Jones performs nowadays. The original is much more powerful and in your face. I always loved "A View to a Kill" as it was the *only* good thing about that movie (other than the closing credits when you no longer had to watch a 60-something Moore flounder around). Incidentally, kd lang recorded a closing-credits song for Tomorrow Never Dies that's quite good.
Oh, and Barrie, yeah, you do need to rent CR as QoS is a direct sequel, a first for the franchise.
"Thunderball" better than "Goldfinger"?
Not in any universe I want to live in.
barrie, if you have pay cable the movie is running on various Showtime stations. You need to see it if you have any intention of seeing the new one, which follows immediately after it.
And it's pretty good, for the most part.
