I watched this on DVD a few weeks ago. The stop-motion effects done by Ray Harryhausen on the cheap are extraordinary. And Mara Corday is a dead ringer for Gina Gershon.
Shessh I think I've seen this movie. I wasn't sure till I saw Richard Denning and the other guy. The Priest looks familiar too, though I can't recall his name.
I watched every cheesy science fiction movie like this I could, especially on Saturday afternoons.

That sure destroyed a lot of Lionel Train sets making these films in the 50s.
Richard Denning? Wow, that brings back memories of "Creature from the Black Lagoon" -especially Julie Adams in that white swim suit.
