This Guy's Had More Fun than I Have

Robert Altman on 'blowing dope' with the Rolling Stones - Times Online: "In this life I have been hung on by Janis Joplin; smoked dope with the Stones; smorgasborded with Mel Torme; crashed a $1,000-a-head party with Tony Bennett; was the actress Jane Russell’s dinner escort; been photographed by Jerry Garcia; danced with the MGM star Marge Champion as well as slow-danced with Lana Turner’s infamous daughter Cheryl Crane; shared intimate thoughts about girlfriends with Carlos Santana; and recently listened to Eddie Fisher tell me that Liz Taylor had just called him after decades of silence."

I didn't follow the link (bad me!), but I suspect Altman is telling all to promo a book. Wonder when he had time to make movies? Actually, I think the last movie he made that I liked was MASH (My God! they shot the quarterback!). I did like his old TV shows like The Millionaire.

You're absolutely right about the book. Wrong Altman, though. Same name, different guy.

Ah! Thanks for the correction. Now I will follow the link.

Wow! After reading it I think that photographer could be his own sub-genre of the Kevin Bacon game.

True. But you know what? I'll bet Robert Altman the movie director had more fun than I did, too.

But you're still havin' fun, Bill.

But not with the Rolling Stones.

Um...I'm not sure that has qualified as Fun since about the time Brian Jones kicked, or sometime earlier. But maybe that's just me.

Yea, the Rolling Stones are a bunch of old fogies. Why hang with them?

Birds of a feather.

Stay off their lawn too.

Yeah, but you're still alive, Bill.
