Happy Birthday, Ray Bradbury!

Ray Bradbury is truly one of the greats. I'll never forget reading "The Fireman" for the first time, or The Martian Chronicles. The October Country. The Illustrated Man. Wonderful stuff, and all part of the foundation of my career as a reader.

All great books and all early in my reading career also. More recently as well.

I can pick them up and read a story from them anytime at all.

Blog spam above. Wow. (Probably to soon be deleted?)

Meanwhile, R IS FOR ROCKET and S IS FOR SPACE were fine collections, as well, aimed at the young, and well-aimed, despite being simply collections of RB. I remember reading "Fire and Ice" while walking home from elementary school.

Bought both of those for my daughter when she was a kid. She was a big Bradbury reader as well as a Heinlein reader. (I like 'em, myself, which is why I bought 'em for her.)
