I saw Bobby Hebb when he opened for the Beatles (mumble, mumble) years ago. In the middle of singing "Sunny", he accidently dropped the mike. He covered it by dancing full circle around the stage, and swooping down to pick up the mike when he made back to the front of the stage. A one-hit wonder, yes, but he knew how to put on a show.

And the Beatles? They put on a great show too, but I didn't see too much of it. Rows and rows of teen-age girls were standing on their boyfriends shoulders to get a better view, so my major view was of their fannies. Not that I'm complaining...

Hey, what a great memory. I never saw the Beatles on stage. I've seen Slim Whitman, though.

Geezer Alert: I saw The Beatles too, at Carnegie Hall in 1964. "Saw" is the operative word, as "heard" would be a lie.

Glad to see Bob picked the quintessential summer song, "Summer in the City."
