William Smith

Walter Satterthwait led me to this site thanks to a discussion of the movie version of Darker than Amber. Some good stuff here if you remember Laredo or for that matter any of the movies Smith was in. Especially interesting is the discussion of the fight scene in the movie, which is condensed on the Rod Taylor site.

Interesting. Rod Taylor's daughter Felicia is the weekend anchorperson on the local NBC news shows.

Well, as I've mentioned elsewhere you might've read, Bill, Smith was notable as the one actor on HAWAII FIVE-0 who was openly contemptuous of Jack Lord's lordly ego, for which he'll always have some extra points in my book.

Bill Smith was evil incarnate as Falconetti on Rich Man, Poor Man. You really loved to hate him!

I first became aware of him on Laredo, which was a great show. I've been a fan ever since.

To Todd Mason:

Jack Lord had no "lordly ego." Instead of listening to gossip and badmouthing, trying viewing all the facts. Jack did nothig egotistical on the show. That would mean he wanted things to go his way for his benefit. What proof do you have of that? None. Anonymous tabloid rants don't count. The 12th season of Hawaii Five-O was ordered at the last minute, and Jack did it with the condition that it would be the final season. He had enough to do with keeping the show running, making sure production didn't go overbudget and over schedule, and working with the technicians and other actors. There is hardly any lordly egotism there.
