It seems that Hurricane Rita is taking aim at the Texas Gulf Coast, and panic is in the air. Nobody really knows where the storm will come to shore, but our neighbors to the right have already left, and the ones on the left will be leaving tomorrow. The ones on the right have metal storm shutters, so their windows are safe enough. The ones on the left have boarded up their windows. Judy and I, on the other hand, have done nothing. We have plenty of water and food, so the main inconvenience will be lack of electricity, assuming the windows and roof hold together. We're almost certain to lose power for at least a couple of days if the storm comes in nearby. So if blogging suddenly ceases on Friday or Saturday, you'll know what happened. Otherwise, I'll be here as usual.

Shouldn't you be doing SOMETHING? Stay safe.

I admire a man that won't desert his books and baseball cards. Hang tough, Bill.
Bill and Judy, We'll be thinking of you out here in San Francisco, and wishing you a safe and secure weekend. As a collector myself, I hope your home doesn't sustain any damage. Take Care!
Thanks for all the good thoughts. If the storm stays on its current track, we should be fine. If it turns back this way, then we might have to get out.
Tina and I will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Be safe.
Be safe. I hope it misses you.
Good luck, Bill. But I do need to point out this is a Category 4, rapidly working up into a 5. Running like hell seems like a good idea to me. I'm just sayin'.
Whatever you do, good luck!
Bill, what JD said. If your neighbors are going or already gone maybe you should think about it seriously.
At least board up the windows?
Maybe you can ride it out in your storage place where the rest of the books are. I suppose it's too late to move the rest of the collection, right?
Anyway, you and Judy are more important than things, so make sure and stay SAFE.
It's a solid 5. 165 mph winds.
Run.
