BILL CRIDER'S POP CULTURE MAGAZINE
I have every one of those, probably from the SFBC. Wow, is that a young Bradbury!
I quit going to Mass and worshipped at the shrine of the SFBC. :) Every package was mana from heaven.
Of course, by the 1970s, Doubleday was making their books out of paper towels and library paste, and they hired people who were fired from roughing out NANCY comic strips or busted for less impressive graffiti to do original covers for the likes of ROGUE MOON and THE DEMOLISHED MAN...but I was still a happy customer, particularly after moving to Hawaii where they didn't automatically send one anything...
Latter '70s, anyway...the Book Club editions were no better than most of their trade editions.
