Thanks. I'm mostly surprised at what's missing from the anthology list...no Straub's POE'S CHILRDEN, neither of the horror annuals nor Ellen Datlow's other volumes this year. Finally picked up MANY BLOODY RETURNS, though I see that was actually a 2007 release.

The Stokers disqualifies reprint anthologies Todd-- a rule change voted on by the membership a few years ago. Thus no Straub and no best-of annuals.

Datlow's only original anthology this year was SF. (There were a few horror/dark fantasy reissues.)

Thanks, NM...if I knew that, I'd forgotten it. Ellen herself was thinking that the Straub wasn't actually realeased till January, and it was pretty close...less close was her own POE, which I guess might be eligible among the 2009 releases.
