Litigation on this level seems silly, but in principle I'm very much on his side; such behavior is inexcusable, and on the level of a nine-year-old. The theater I go to (in Springfield, OR) does not allow texting or any other cell phone use during movies, and doing so can--and should--get patrons kicked out. I believe Texas's Alamo Drafthouse has a similar rule. It is one of the few bulwarks we have against rampant Philistinism by the electronic generation.

Seems to me they're both in the wrong...in which case maybe everything's all right anyway.

I could understand it (if not excuse it) if she was 15, but at 35, she should be embarrassed.

Put me on that jury. He'd not only get back the price of the ticket, but another $1,000 in punitive damages.

He should have called the usher and had her either admonished or ejected.
