Both of my childhood libraries are gone. Both were right next door to the elementary school I attended. The first one was an old house that had been converted to a library. The children's books were all on the first floor (of 3), and I was never allowed upstairs. The second was a modern, one-story building, built on the site of the first one (which was demolished). That building is now a social-services center, and the newer library is 2 block east of it...
