ABC News: Ralph Stanley, a patriarch of Appalachian music who with his brother Carter helped expand and popularize the genre that became known as bluegrass, died Thursday. He was 89.
I was just about to send you that link. The Coen brothers, whatever one might think of their movies, really exposed a whole new audience to Stanley (and other artists) with the soundtrack to "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"
